The Legend Hand of God directory had PhysX8.04.25SystemSoftware.exe in it so I was able to uninstall the current version and use that and it would work, but you supplied the missing piece of the puzzle.

Every time I would install a newer version of PhysX such as with a new game that required it, the old Ageia version would be wiped out and the game would no longer work. Following that procedure allows me to have both old and new versions.I usually don't rely on others to do my googling for me, but I missed that solution during my search.
